We’re proud to have been offering camps for 25 years, and our mission is pretty clear – we want to help players improve while emphasizing a positive and fun atmosphere. What can you learn at our summer tennis camps? With the opportunity to get 2-5 hours of instruction each day from our excellent staff, our program focuses on having fun, getting better, being a good sport, improving your serve, improving your form, playing with integrity, preparing mentally and setting goals. Another great thing about our camp is that it doesn’t matter what your skill level is – whether you’re a top high school athlete looking to play in college or someone that’s just beginning in the sport, there’s a spot for everyone.

So, if you’re a beginner, why exactly should you play tennis? Well, there are plenty of reasons why, but we have 10 great ones right here for you.

1. Get Fit!- Playing tennis is a great way to burn calories and lose some weight – one hour of play equals anywhere between 580-870 calories burned.

2. Improve Your Hand-Eye Coordination- That’s not all, though! You can also improve your balance, agility, coordination and reaction time.

3. Brain Power-According to a study, kids who play tennis regularly get better grades thanks to the enhancement of the neural connections in your brain.

4. Improved Social Skills- According to a study(34 Reasons to Play Tennis), tennis outperforms all other sports concerning developing positive personality characteristics.

5. Problem Solving- Remember when it seemed like you’d never use geometry and physics in real life? Well, this is the opportunity to do so since tennis is a sport based on angles.

6. Family and Friends- There are usually tennis courts all over the place, you don’t need a lot of equipment, and it’s an activity the whole family to participate.

7. Develop Teamwork and Sportsmanship- Through team play, league play, and doubles play, tennis develops a player’s ability to communicate and work together.

8. Strong Heart, Muscles, and Bones- Playing any form of athletics is good for your health, but tennis takes the cake – compared to other sports, those who play tennis have the lowest incidence of cardiovascular disease.

9. Live Longer-If you just play tennis for three hours per week, your risk of heart disease drops a staggering 56%.

10. Stress Reducer- Tennis allows your capacity to deal with stress to increase since it includes mental, physical, emotional and social challenges.

So, what are you waiting for? If you haven’t tried tennis yet, now is the perfect time to try, and we’d love to help you to continue improving your skills at camp! Interested in signing up for TCR’s Tennis Camp this summer? Click here for more information.
