Drissa was born and raised in the suburb of Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire. The sport of tennis was a part of life in Drissa’s family and his uncle was the head coach at the local tennis courts. After an illustrious junior career, he was asked to join the Côte d’Ivoire National Federation Team at the age of 18. Drissa went on to represent his country in the Davis Cup competition.

This catapulted Drissa to the world-class level as he gained professional match experience and character strength on the court. Drissa then went on to play ATP Futures events in Africa to test a professional career. During his competitive years, he began to find a true passion in developing and coaching players.
